What the hell is the matter with this country?

You can pierce a babies ears, give kids nose rings, pierce their tongues, let them do all kinds of weird stuff with metal and holes. You can lop off the foreskin of young males. You can kill babies in the womb up until the day of birth. You can even get a court order to starve a woman to death.
But God forbid you pierce the ears of a kitten. Do that and this twisted sick government of ours will find a way to charge you. Don't they cut the ears of certain breeds of dogs and tails for that matter? Where is the logic in this stupidity. What the hell is wrong with this country when we can do unspeakable acts to humans, yet not an animal.

Woman accused of trying to sell 'gothic kittens'

WILKES-BARRE, Pa. (AP) - Humane officers said a Pennsylvania woman marketed "gothic kittens" with ear, neck and tail piercings over the Internet. Officers with the SPCA of Luzerne County removed three kittens and a cat from a home outside Wilkes-Barre.
Officer Carol Morrison said the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals raided the home on Wednesday after getting a tip that the woman was selling the pierced kittens on eBay.
"It's unbelievable anybody would do this to kittens," Morrison said.
Charges are likely against the homeowner, whose name was not released.
Morrison said the woman has a pet grooming business in the basement of the home.
