Arnold Schwarzenegger is an Idiot.

After the California decision yesterday I thought about writing something, but decided against it. After reading the story today in the Baltimore Sun I just had to say something about what the governor of California said about the decision. While there are many examples of his belief about the role of the courts in our system as it stands today, I just could not let it go by without saying my piece.

"I respect the court's decision, and as governor, I will uphold its ruling," he said in a statement. "Also, as I have said in the past, I will not support an amendment to the constitution that would overturn this state Supreme Court ruling." - AS

What this buffoon is saying is that he believes the Supreme Court of California rules the state. As the Chief executive he has every right to refuse to uphold an unconstitutional ruling. Liberals speak of precedent and how much it matters. In cases like this they throw thousands of years of precedent out the window. And gutless wonders like Schwarzenegger meekly follow because they have been brainwashed into believing in Judicial Supremacy.

By his last statement you can also see that he does not care about what the people have to say. This also shows how a vocal minority can dictate to the majority even if the majority have already spoken which they did when they passed the marriage law in 2000.
The judicial system in this country is a joke because it is not based on law but judicial whim. The absolutes of law have been replaced with the opinions of self-serving social activists who happen to wear black robes and have been elevated to the status of our ruler gods.

This is proof positive that we need to elect people to office that understand the true roles of the different branches. The Governor is not subservient to the Courts and neither is the Legislature. The courts have a proper role in declaring laws to be unconstitutional, but they themselves must adhere to the Constitution. If they violate it their rulings are also subject to not be enforced by the other two branches. To say that they can't is to deny a system of checks and balances.
